For patients that are coming from a distance, in order to allow for the most efficient use of your time it is possible to schedule your consultation with Dr. Kandil and your surgery during the same visit, eliminating the need to make multiple trips. Patients should arrive the day or evening before the consultation and plan on surgery the day after the consultation, as well as a post-operative visit two to three days after the surgery.

Consultation

During your consultation, you will meet with Dr. Kandil to review your medical history and map out your course of treatment. Before arriving for your appointment please ask your physician to forward your medical records, test results, and any imaging results that are available so that Dr. Kandil can review this information in advance. Some tests may need to be repeated before your surgery.
 
Please make sure to request the following:

• Thyroid Ultrasound report or Neck Ultrasound report
• CT of Neck report or CT of Thyroid report (if done)
  
• Pathology report (if a Biopsy or Fine Needle Aspirate was done)
• Results from lab / blood work that was completed
• Referring physician Consult Notes

This information can be faxed to (504)-988-1882. In addition, we need a copy of all Ultrasound or CT images that were taken. This information can be copied to a CD and brought with you or sent in advance to:
