Dr. Kahn is the Sr. Associate Dean, Peterman-Prosser Professor, and a hematologist/medical oncologist. Dr. Kahn is responsible for all matters pertaining to students including counseling, career planning, academic issues, and student promotion. Dr. Kahn writes the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) for all students and guides students through the match process. He is also involved in the Admissions process. In addition to his administrative role, Dr. Kahn teaches clinical and preclinical students and serves as Co-director of the Hematopathology block. Dr. Kahn’s research interests include benign hematology, medical education, and healthcare finance.

Dr. Beckman is the Associate Dean for Admissions at Tulane University School of Medicine where she is also Professor of Pharmacology. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tulane and her graduate work at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Beckman teaches pharmacology and enjoys advising students in the Admissions process. Currently, Dr. Beckman’s research interests include ceramide analogs as potential breast cancer therapeutic agents.

Dr. Ernest Sneed is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tulane University. Dr. Sneed matriculated to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York, where he received his Medical Doctorate. He completed his medical residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Sneed joined the faculty in the Department of Medicine in 1997. He serves as a staff physician and clinical instructor for students and residents. Dr. Sneed is interested in health literacy. He writes a bi-weekly column, on general health issues, which is published in over 60 newspapers throughout Louisiana.

James A. Knight, M.D. Chair of Humanities and Ethics in Medicine Chaplain and Associate Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry
Father Don, James A. Knight, M.D. Chair of Humanities and Ethics in Medicine, serves as the Chaplain to the Tulane School of Medicine. He was appointed by the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. In addition to his duties as Chaplain, Father Don is available for counseling and is a Professor in Medicine and Psychiatry.

Kim is responsible for the coordinator for all medical students’ registration. She maintains all student records and all MD courses within the database. Kim teaches department coordinators the grading system. She also processes the completion of paperwork involving courses, electives, leave of absences, education verifications for degrees and enrollment forms.

Rebecca is the Senior Program Coordinator, located in the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs office. She is responsible for all medical student annual events, including all orientations, White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, Student Appreciation Luncheon, Graduation and any other student related events. She also works closely with student organizations to maintain budgets for all student events.

Melissa is responsible for sending and processing all secondary applications for applicants who apply to Tulane School of Medicine. She also assists all senior medical students with their residency applications including ensuring that all transcripts, letters, and the MSPE are uploaded to ERAS for each senior student. Aside from her student records work, Melissa also helps with the planning of Match Day, Ivy Day, and Graduation.

Jenna is the Admissions Coordinator for the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs. She is responsible for the development, planning and implementation of the admissions process. Responsibilities include the organization, execution, communications and budget management of the admissions process. She also handles all letters of good standing and malpractice letters.

Rachel provides administrative support for the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs. She assists with the daily operations of the Student Affairs Office. As the front desk manager, she greets visitors, directs phone calls, handles incoming and outgoing mail, and sets appointments for students to meet with the Sr. Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs.
