Miguel A. Melgar, MD, PhD, FAANS, FACS

Dr. Melgar graduated medical school in 1982 from National Major University of San Marcos in Lima, Peru where he also completed his residency in neurological surgery in 1987. Dr. Melgar then went on to complete a one year fellowship in neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida in 1988. He also earned a doctoral degree in Anatomy & Cell Biology from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan in 1997. Dr. Melgar is board certified through the American Board of Neurological Surgery, and he is currently Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Tulane University.
