Rebecca Kruse-Jarres, MD/MPH
Dr. Kruse-Jarres graduated from Tulane University, School of Medicine in 1999 with a combined degree in medicine and public health. She then completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Tulane University where she became faculty in the Section of Hematology/Oncology in 2005. Shortly thereafter, she became Director of the Adult Sickle Cell Program and opened a Sickle Cell Day Hospital in 2007 to provide faster, more compassionate and individualized care for adult patients in acute pain. One of her main focuses is to provide easier access and to improve care for people with sickle cell disease throughout Louisiana by adapting a patient centered medical home approach. Besides this she is overseeing many research initiatives to better understand sickle cell disease, especially as people are getting older and to improve the lives of those afflicted with it.
