Quality Clusters

A little patient in the Tulane Department of Surgery

Tulane University Medical School is committed to excellence in patient care and the education of health professionals. We believe that continued learning and constant reflection on experience improve all we do as we strive to provide the highest quality health care.

Per this belief, Dean Sachs has instituted the Quality Improvement Project at Tulane Medical School. 

The patient focused and organizational functions are assessed by collecting and analyzing data related to one or more of the following aims for improvement: safe, effective, patient centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. The information is gathered by Quality Clusters based around departments and identifiable areas within departments.

To fulfill our mission we foster an environment that encourages innovation, diversity, and  a respect for patient safety. The quality and safety improvement plan involves physicians, nurses, administrators, managers and staff. The quality and safety improvement plan focuses on improving key functions within the organization. Tulane Medical School is dedicated to the safety and quality of care provided to its patients.
