Pediatricians Offered Advanced Course on Neurometabolic Disorders
Pediatricians were offered an advanced course on neurometabolic disorders over a four day span in March 2013. More than 60 participants registered for the training, including neurologists, pediatricians, neonatologists, fellows and biochemical geneticists from Hong Kong and China. Congratulations to the Class of 2012!
Another fine group of students have completed their Masters in Human Genetics in May. Within this class of 14, students are headed to medical schools (University of South Carolina), PhD programs in genetics (Baylor, LSU), genetic counseling programs (Arcadia) and science jobs (NIH, Tulane, Vanderbilt, LI Jewish Hospital). We wish each of them well and will follow their progress with pride.
Congratulations to our Faculty!
Dr. Karen Weissbecker, Course Director, was nominated for her course in Medical Genetics for the Best First Year Course in the medical school. This nomination, among 3 courses total, is outstanding, especially considering we are a much shorter course than others. Also, Dr. Hans Andersson was nominated and won honorable mention for Best T1 Lecturer.
