Years at Tulane:
I am involved in the implementation of a quality rating system for child care in Louisiana and served on the state steering committee. My work involves supervising the administration of the Infant-Toddler and Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales, which are used to evaluate quality in child care centers. I assisted in the development of a model for mental health consultation aimed at assisting early childhood professionals in fostering children’s social-emotional development as well as teaching techniques to modify children’s challenging behavior in a positive way, and provide reflective supervision to the consultants. My research interests include quality of care and its effects on children’s development, positive discipline, and multicultural competence.
