Pediatric Nephrology's faculty continue the section's tradition of excellence in pediatric research, publications, training and patient care, earning academic honors and representing the section, as well as the University, at local and national committees and scientific assemblages worldwide. Samir S. El-Dahr, M.D. is the Jane B Aron Professor and Chair of Pediatrics. In addition, he continues his role as the Chief of the Section of Pediatric Nephrology and is an active clinician with an interest in Pediatric hypertension and transplantation. Dr. El-Dahr remains actively involved in laboratory research and currently holds NIH funding related to mechanisms of kidney development. Franca Acka, M.D., M.P.H. completed her Fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology at the Ohio State University and joined the department of Pediatric Nephrology as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics. Dr Acka also serves as the Director of Pediatric Dialysis. Dr. Acka enjoys teaching medical students and residents and is involved in clinical research in the area of chronic kidney disease and nephrotic syndrome. Ihor V. Yosypiv, M.D. Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and Director of Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program. Dr. Yosypiv is an active clinician with an interest in Pediatric end-stage renal disease and congenital renal disorders. Dr. Yosypiv is actively involved in laboratory research and currently holds NIH funding related to mechanisms of kidney development. |
