CME

Stephen Weimer, MD

Message from the CME Chairman
Dr. Stephen Weimer

A key mission of the Department of Pediatrics at Tulane Medical Center’s School of Medicine in New Orleans is education.  In addition to educating medical students and pediatric residents, the department of pediatrics is pleased to provide CME to local, regional, and national pediatric providers.  As chair of the CME Committee, I am proud to present the following CME activities of the department.

To begin with, the pediatric department hosts the Saturday Afternoon Pediatric CME Series.  Held at a local restaurant two to three times per year, this regional conference consists of a delicious meal followed by a series of speakers on topics of interest to general pediatric practitioners.  Information and registration is available at Tulane University’s Center for Continuing Education (504-988-5466 or www.cme.tulane.edu).

Next, the department of pediatrics hosts the Pediatric Grand Rounds scientific sessions, which are held very Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the School of Medicine (Room 6001, 1430 Tulane Ave, New Orleans, La.).  A variety of cutting edge pediatric topics are discussed at Grand Rounds each week.  Pediatric providers are welcome to attend any Grand Rounds session, and CME credit is offered.  Please contact the Department of Pediatrics directly for more information on Grand Rounds (504- 988-5456).

Lastly, Tulane pediatric faculty participate in various CME events sponsored by other clinical departments at Tulane Medical Center.  Pediatric providers are asked to check the Center for Continuing Education website above for the latest information on these CME events.

Thank you for considering the Department of Pediatrics at Tulane University School of Medicine for your CME needs.

Sincerely,

Stephen M. Weimer, MD
