In the "zone of good morphology" normal RBC will be uniform in size and shape, and almost touching. Each cell is round, about 7µ in diameter, and 86-98 fl in volume. Central pallor occupies about a third of the cell diameter. One or two reticulocytes will be seen in each High Power Field (HPF).
