Harold G. Tabb, M.D.

We regret to inform our program alumni of the passing of our former Chair, Dr. Harold G. Tabb, on Friday, July 30, 2004. Please join the entire Tulane family in mourning the loss of a truly legendary otolaryngologist.

Harold G. Tabb, M.D. is a beloved Professor and past Chairman of our department. His contributions to our speciality are world renowned. He has been a member of the Triological Society since 1957, and was elected President in 1987. He was chosen to be the first Mosher Award recipient. He was a director on the American Board of Otolaryngology for 18 years and is now a Senior Counselor. He is past President of the American Otologic Society, the American Laryngological Association, and the Otosclerosis Study Group. He is an active member of the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery, the Society of University Otolaryngologists, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Medical Association. He stepped down as Chairman of The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Tulane in 1987 after serving nearly three decades with distinction. His countless number of scientific publications and years of dedicated service make Harold Tabb one of our most beloved alumni.
