Electives
Fourth year electives and sub-internships are designed to permit medical students to gain a greater depth of understanding of principles of women's health care in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The foundation, of course, is expected to have been acquired in the core third year clinical clerkship experience. At the conclusion of the course the student will achieve a more advanced level of knowledge, clinical skills, and independence of judgment under faculty and resident supervision in a focused aspect of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Such students are expected to demonstrate increased initiative in the care of their patients and increased knowledge gained through more advanced reading and discussion of principles related to the care their patients.
