Thank you for your interest in our ACGME accredited, six-year residency training program. Per the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and American Board Neurological Surgeons (ABNS) requirements effective July 1, 2009 the neurological surgery residency training program will be 72 months in a curriculum under the control of the neurosurgery program director. Previously, the first year (internship year) was designated as the surgery internship year.
Our program is diversified and well balanced. It includes clinical neurosurgery, basic sciences, neurology, neuroradiology, neuropathology, interventional neuroangiography, and other subject matter related to neurosciences. Didactic activities include weekly case presentations, neuro sciences lectures, morbidity & mortality conferences, and monthly journal club.
Our residents training facilities includes Tulane Medical Center, Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans, Ochsner Foundation Hospital, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
