Functional Neurosurgery


Functional neurosurgery focuses on the surgical destruction or chronic excitation of a part of the brain as treatment of a physiological or psychological disorder. Examples of conditions treated by functional neurosurgery are pain, movement disorders (Parkinson's disease and tremor), psychiatric conditions and pain.
