Obinna Nnedu, MD, MPH
Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine
Biography
Dr. Nnedu received his Medical degree and Master’s degree in Public Health in 2004 from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In 2007, he then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Tulane University. He went on to do a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington, Seattle from 2007-2010. During his infectious diseases fellowship, he received the fogarty international research fellowship award and conducted research on HIV and malaria co-infections in Kenya. In September of 2010, Dr. Nnedu joined Tulane University School of Medicine faculty as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine.
Dr. Nnedu’s primary research interests are international health, malaria/HIV co-infections and malaria immunology. Dr. Nnedu’s clinical interests include the treatment of parasitic diseases especially malaria. Dr. Nnedu enjoys teaching and working with fellows, residents and medical students.
