Deborah Barbeau, MDDeborah Nicolls Barbeau, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine

Biography
Dr. Barbeau received her medical degree in 2000 from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed Internal Medicine training at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. She went on to complete a combined Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Fellowship at Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. During her fellowship, she worked at the Travelers’ Health branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and earned a Masters of Science in Clinical Research from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.

Dr. Barbeau joined the Tulane faculty in 2008 as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department Medicine, Section of Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Barbeau is  pursuing a PhD in Environmental Health Sciences through the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

Her main research interests include the health effects associated with poor drinking water quality, wastewater and biosolids management, and traveler's health.
