Fellowship Eligibility & Application

Eligibility

The Training Program is available to qualified applicants who wish to pursue an academic, public health-oriented or clinical career in Infectious Diseases. Fellows spend one year in intensive clinical work before entering one of the following training pathways for one year:

  • Public health degree program in Tropical Medicine (MPH&TM), Diploma in Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler's Health, or Masters of Clinical Research (MS-CR);
  • Advanced clinical training;
  • Laboratory or clinical research in Infectious Diseases

Applicants must be ABIM board-eligible in Internal Medicine.

Tulane University cannot accept H-1B visa holders.  J-1 visa-holders are welcome.


Application

Applicants must be ABIM board-eligible in Internal Medicine Tulane University does not accept H-1B visa holders. Application is made via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)., and we participate in the Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP) of the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

Please note that “the match” for adult infectious diseases fellows has moved from the spring of the applicants’ 2nd year of training to the fall of their 3rd year. In other words, Match Day for fellowship positions starting July 1, 2013 will be held in December 2012.

Match opens: August 1, 2012
Interviews: August 7 – Nov. 7, 2012
Rank Order List closes: Nov. 14, 2012
Match Day: Dec. 5, 2012
