Ross KlingsbergRoss C. Klingsberg, MD

Dr. Klingsberg earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society during his senior year. He did his internship at the University of Pennsylvania and his internal medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine training at Tulane University. He joined the faculty of Tulane University as an assistant professor in 2008.  He is board certified  in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. He is member of the  American Thoracic Society. He is past-president of the Tulane School of Medicine General Medical Faculty and was also chairman of the Grievance Committee.

Dr. Klingsberg's main clinical interest are cystic fibrosis (mucoviscidosis), non-CF bronchiectasis, and mycobacterial diseases of the lung.  He is the director of the Tulane Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program and is the principal investigator on several clinical trials for new treatments for cystic fibrosis.  He is a staff physician at the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals Wetmore TB Clinic.  He also has weekly general pulmonary clinics at both the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System and Tulane Medical Center.  He treats critically ill patients at Tulane Medical Center, Interim LSU Hospital, and Kindred Hospital.  He is the ICU medical director and president of the medical staff at Kindred Hospital of New Orleans.

Dr. Klingsberg is the director of pulmonary medical education and frequently lectures at Tulane School of Medicine.  He is currently the co-director of the 2nd-year medical school Mechanisms of Disease course and the pulmonary module of the Health Education Adaptive Learning eXperience (HEAL-X) curriculum.  Under his guidance, the Pulmonary Section won the Tulane School of Medicine Owl Club Award for "Best Module" in 2013-2014.
