Luann Wenthold, NP-C, MPH

Luann Wenthold obtained her Bachelors degree in Nursing from the College of St. Teresa in Winona Minnesota, obtaining my clinical experience at hospitals associated with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Before she obtained her NP degree, she worked on a medical surgical floor, taught nursing, started a public health nursing service in a rural Iowa county and was a regional supervisor for the Iowa State Department of Health.
Luann obtained her Nurse Practitioner degree from Tulane SPHTM along with an Masters in Public Health. After graduation, became the project coordinator for a 5 million NIH funded pregnancy study at LSUMC, looking at the effects of genitourinary infections on pregnancy outcome.
Since then, Luann has worked as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory care in Allergy and Immunology at Kaiser Permanente in California, Internal Medicine and HIV Adolescent Health Care at Tulane School of Medicine. Currently she is the Director of New Orleans first Sickle Cell Day Hospital, working in conjunction with Dr. Kruse-Jarres.
