Section Chief's Message
Welcome to the Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Tulane University’s School of Medicine in New Orleans. Our section is committed to excellence in medical education, research and clinical services.
The Gastroenterology & Hepatology faculty is led by outstanding physician scientists, clinicians, and educators who are amongst the most respected clinicians in the region and country. Our doctors deliver clinical services at Tulane University Health Sciences Center, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System, and Medical Center of Louisiana - University Hospital. These institutions offer a wide range of educational, clinical, and research opportunities.
The Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology is also involved in research extending from basic science collaborations with the Department of Pathology to clinical trials of cutting edge applications of new treatment alternatives and technologies.
In addition to our clinical services and research programs, we have a thriving and innovative 3 year fellowship program. The faculty of the Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology work diligently to provide a personal learning experience for each fellow. Unique to the Tulane experience, our fellows work closely with their colleagues in the Louisiana State University Gastroenterology Fellowship program sharing educational activities including core lecture series, GI pathology and GI imaging conferences as well as case presentations embodying the diversity of the complex New Orleans patient population. Additionally, night and weekend call activity at University Hospital is shared by Tulane and LSU programs.
I invite you to peruse our website and experience a small piece of the collaborative, energetic, and innovative atmosphere here at the Tulane University, Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
