Research Interests

Dr. Amna Khan is a board-certified Endocrinologist with a special interest in thyroid diseases, osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. Dr. Khan completed her residency at Long Island College Hospital in New York and her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. She began practicing in New Orleans in 2009 and is the director of the newly opened Tulane Center for Osteoporosis & Metabolic Bone Diseases. Dr. Khan also pursues clinical research in the area of metabolic bone disease and has been invited to present her findings at several conferences and meetings. Her most recent local presentation was to the Southern Society of Clinical Investigators, and it discussed the relationship between fractures and the use of Depo Provera in young women.
