Roberta McDuffie is an Advanced Practice Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health, specializing in Diabetes. She is also a Certified Diabetes Educator. After completion of Graduate School at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Nurse McDuffie joined Ochsner Medical Center as the first Advanced Practice Nurse to practice in the Endocrine Department and as a Sub-Investigator on several Endocrine research projects. After several years with Ochsner, Nurse McDuffie was recruited to the Endocrine Section at Tulane University in 2002 to recruit and manage the ACCORD research study, an NIH-funded Diabetes research study. Subsequently, she became the Director of both Endocrine and Cardiology research and, finally, Co-Director of the Tulane Clinical Translational Unit (CTU) and facilitator for the LA CaTS project. In 2012, Nurse McDuffie was named Biomedical IRB Chair for Tulane University’s Institutional Review Board.
