The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking applicants for the ADROUNY ENDOWED PROFESSORSHIP as part of a vigorous expansion of the department. The Tulane University School of Medicine (http://tulane.edu/som/) offers a highly collaborative scientific environment with many multidisciplinary centers and state-of-the-art core facilities including transgenic, in vivo and in vitro imaging, genomic, and proteomic facilities. Applicants should be established and successful investigators with research interests that complement or strengthen existing research activities in the department (http://tulane.edu/som/departments/biochemistry/). Candidates who bring novel approaches and expertise in cancer signaling and metabolism, microRNA, epigenetics, cancer stem cells, medicinal chemistry, tumor immunology, and genetic/disease model systems are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants are expected to maintain a strong and independent extramurally funded research program, and to participate in graduate and medical student teaching. As an endowed professor, the applicant will be provided with a highly competitive salary, significant start-up funds, and excellent laboratory space. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree and must already have an independent, extramurally funded research program with clear evidence of long-term research excellence.
