Biographical Narrative:

Timothy Pearman, Ph.D. is administrative director of the Tulane Cancer Center and clinical associate professor of psychiatry & neurology at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA.  He was the director of the Psychosocial Oncology Program at Tulane from 2000-2008.  Dr. Pearman is a graduate of Penn State University and the University of Florida.  He is a member of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Subcommittee G (Education), has served on various ACS advisory committees and has lectured nationally and internationally on topics such as palliative care, bioethics and quality of life in oncology.  He has received grant funding from the Susan G. Komen Foundation as well as the Avon Foundation to increase rates of cancer screening for underserved women in the New Orleans area by utilizing patient navigators and establishing partnerships with outlying internal medicine clinics primarily located in and around public housing projects.
