Hours of Operation
The CACF is currently open between 9am-5pm Monday through Friday but appointments are scheduled from 10-12 and 1-5pm.

Scheduling
Please contact Mary Price at mprice1@tulane.edu or 988-3442 to schedule appointments.

All new users must download, print, and fill in the Account Authorization Form, and bring it to the Facility with the signature of the principal investigator.

Scheduled Appointment Policy

  • Please try to be on time. If you are going to be late for your scheduled appointment contact the facility. Any appointments that are 15 minutes late will begin to be charged for the remainder of the appointment.
  • If you do not contact the facility and are late for your appointment, you will be charged from the beginning of the booked time.
  • If you are late for a scheduled time, please note that your analysis or sort appointment will be strictly enforced to accommodate those signed up after you.
  • If you fail to show up for a scheduled appointment, you will be billed for the full time.

Cancellations

  • If you need to cancel, try to do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any charges for time. You can cancel by email or by phone (please leave a message if unanswered).
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled time, you will still be billed for 1 hour of setup time.

Please notify Core personnel immediately if any information changes before your scheduled appointment.

Aria/LSR II Users

All users are requested to contact the facility at least two business days in advance for cell analysis or sorting. It is recommended to check the availability of the instrument before starting your experiment in order to ensure that samples will be run on time. Please contact the facility as soon as possible if any changes to your scheduled time is needed.

BD Pathway 855 Users
All users must submit a Pathway Protocol Information sheet and a 96 Well Plate template to the Cell Analysis Core prior to scheduling an appointment for the BD Pathway 855. Core personnel will review the completed Pathway Protocol Information sheet and contact users with instrument availability based on core personnel scheduling.

First Time User
Please contact Mary Price, prior to scheduling so that you can be assured that the facility is prepared to meet your needs and to expedite any special requests. Explain what you hope to achieve and we will help you to decide what instrumentation would most suit your needs. A brief consultation on experimental design to discuss controls needed and an introduction to sample preparation is required.

Feedback and Acknowledgments
We welcome any feedback from users of the Cell Analysis Core Facility. Please email any comments or suggestions directly to mprice1@tulane.edu or Prescott Deininger at pdeinin@tulane.edu.

As a reminder, all users of the CACF are asked to acknowledge the Core in their papers. We would like the Core to be acknowledged as “The Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium FACS Core.” The Core is also supported through Dr. Prescott Deininger’s COBRE Grant. Please acknowledge this grant as well. Below is suggested wording for the COBRE grant acknowledgement:
