Time Out Program

The Tulane Time Out Program encourages applicants, once accepted to Tulane Medical School, to defer admission for 1, 2, or 3 years prior to medical school enrollment to volunteer for Teach for America, Americorps, or the Peace Corps, or to finish a PhD program. An applicant's place in the medical school class will be held during the deferment program.
