Our Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Office of Student Affairs:

  • Serves as Registrar for the School of Medicine.
  • Provides academic, personal, and career counseling.
  • Acts on behalf of the School of Medicine in personal emergencies.
  • Coordinates the formal orientation of entering medical students.
  • Coordinates all activities associated with the annual White Coat Ceremony.
  • Coordinates special billing.
  • Coordinates all SSCR files with the DOE and the National Clearinghouse.
  • Coordinates paperwork among military branches for students.
  • Chairs the Committee on Student Affairs.
  • Coordinates activities with Student Health Services.
  • Coordinates all activities for summer school.
  • Coordinates all activities associated with visiting students.
  • Processes all applications for licensure exams.
  • Coordinates all activities associated with the MATCH.
  • Composes, types, and prints all MSPEs for residency application.
  • Coordinates all ERAS applications.
  • Tracks all combined degree candidates.
  • Provides letters of recommendation for students for various agencies.
  • Schedules all courses and clinical rotations.
  • Processes all changes in schedules.
  • Administers all disciplinary actions.
