Responsibilities of the Office of Student Affairs:
- Serves as Registrar for the School of Medicine.
- Provides academic, personal, and career counseling.
- Acts on behalf of the School of Medicine in personal emergencies.
- Coordinates the formal orientation of entering medical students.
- Coordinates all activities associated with the annual White Coat Ceremony.
- Coordinates special billing.
- Coordinates all SSCR files with the DOE and the National Clearinghouse.
- Coordinates paperwork among military branches for students.
- Chairs the Committee on Student Affairs.
- Coordinates activities with Student Health Services.
- Coordinates all activities for summer school.
- Coordinates all activities associated with visiting students.
- Processes all applications for licensure exams.
- Coordinates all activities associated with the MATCH.
- Composes, types, and prints all MSPEs for residency application.
- Coordinates all ERAS applications.
- Tracks all combined degree candidates.
- Provides letters of recommendation for students for various agencies.
- Schedules all courses and clinical rotations.
- Processes all changes in schedules.
- Administers all disciplinary actions.
