The QEP is a focused strategic plan that engages the entire Tulane University community – faculty, students, staff, administrators, alumni and trustees – in developing a project that contributes to our institutional strength by enhancing student learning. The five-year plan must be based on the scholarship and research around best educational practices, with clear outcomes for student learning and a well-developed assessment plan and research design. The plan must also include resources for implementation. The implementation of our QEP will begin in 2011-2012.
Tulane University is in the beginning stages of preparing for our 2011 reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). In order to maintain our accreditation, we must document that Tulane meets all the Principles of Accreditation. Core Requirement 2.12 and 3.3.2 of the Principles of Accreditation asks institutions to develop a QEP for enhancing student learning as part of the process of reaffirmation.
