Nominations for the Staff Advisory Council

Any Tulane staff employee can nominate any exempt or non-exempt staff employees. Staff employees who are full-time or part-time with benefits are eligible for election to the council as representatives of their respective districts. A staff member must have completed their six-month probationary period to be eligible to run for a position on the council.

During its longstanding history, the Staff Advisory Council has been highly successful in representing its constituents and serving well its campuses and communities. For example, through the efforts of SAC, the staff has gained Lundi Gras and Memorial Day as holidays, an increased retirement contribution (from 6 percent to 8 percent), and with the help of the Black Faculty and Staff Association, raised over $3,000 and numerous toys for the CASA for the Holidays program. SAC members serve on University Senate subcommittees and bring forward issues affecting staff; they also serve as resources for staff who need to be directed to appropriate offices to handle specific issues.
