Off-Campus Burglary
Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 9:10 P.M.
1000 block of Pine Street

The reporting person stated that he witnessed a black male suspect exit his neighbor’s apartment. The reporting person and his roommate chased the suspect east down Freret Street and lost contact with him at Audubon Street.

Suspect’s Description:
Black male, approximately 5’8”, muscular build, bald head, wearing a white T-shirt and purple and gold shorts with a tiger patch on one of the legs. The suspect was also wearing eyeglasses and white tennis shoes.                                                         


CRIME PREVENTION TIPS:

1. Keep doors and windows locked.
2. Maintain good exterior lighting.
3. Trim foliage around residence.   
4. When Traveling between your vehicle and residence have keys in hand and ready to use.
5. BE AWARE of your surroundings at all times.
6. REPORT emergencies to TUPD @ 5200 or NOPD @ 911.

Off-Campus Burglary
Wednesday, April 9, 2008 @ 4:33a.m.
800Blk of Broadway St.

The victim awoke to find to find the suspect taking his cell phone off his night stand. When the victim yelled, the suspect grabbed the victim’s notebook computer and fled the residence. Investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry. 

Suspect’s Description:
Black male, approximately 5”8”, 180 lbs., medium complexion, short cropped hair, wearing a grey T-shirt and dark pants.
                                                                                                                     

CRIME PREVENTION TIPS:

1. Keep doors and windows locked.
2. Maintain good exterior lighting.
3. Trim foliage around residence.
4. REPORT emergencies to TUPD @ 5200 or NOPD @ 911.

Off-Campus Burglary
Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 10:50 P.M.
2100 Block of Calhoun Street



An unknown black male broke into a residence in the 2100 block of Calhoun Street while a female resident was home. She fled from the residence and called police.
 

Suspect’s Description:
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’10” to 5’11” and weighing approximately 165-170 pounds. He was in his early 20’s with a bald head and clean shaven. The suspect was wearing a light or sky blue long sleeved shirt with dark stripes.

Off Campus Carjacking
Tuesday, March 11, 2008 @ 2:00 a.m.
900 block of Lowerline Street

A Tulane student was confronted at the above location after parking and exiting her vehicle. The suspect presented a handgun and ordered her back into her car. The student exited the vehicle at Broadway St. and Freret St. and flagged down a passing vehicle. The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was later located in a driveway of a nearby residence.    

Suspect’s Description:
Black Male, light complexion, between 20 and 25 years of age, approximately 5’9” and having a dreadlock hairstyle. Suspect was wearing a dark colored hoodie.

CRIME PREVENTION TIPS:

* NEVER resist an armed robber.
* Travel in groups and take taxi when available.
* Avoid walking at night and in dimly lit areas.
* When Traveling between your vehicle and residence have keys in hand and ready to use.
* BE AWARE of your surroundings at all times.
* REPORT emergencies to TUPD @ 5200 or NOPD @ 911.
