Research Focus:

My research is mainly focusing on investigating the relationship between DNA variation and human complex traits. By incorporating tools from genetics, genomics, and statistics, I have been working both on developing new analytical methodology and on conducting analyses on various types of biological data. My recent efforts are centering on genome-wide association studies. Relying on population genetic principals such as structure of linkage equilibrium and facilitating the advanced molecular technologies such as genome-wide SNP arrays and next-generation sequencing data, I am working on dissecting the genetic architecture of human complex diseases such as osteoporosis and obesity.

Another area of interest is to study the genetic variance of DNA sequences. Topics include DNA linkage disequilibrium structure across genome, structural variation such as copy number variation, and ethnic differences in DNA variation across populations such as Caucasian and Asian.
