Alumni in Action

Like many of our alumni and faculty, MATTHEW P. ROLLOSSON (TRMD MPH&TM'09) is addressing the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Rollosson underwent CDC Safety Course Training in November before deploying to Port Loko, Sierra Leone with Partners in Health to work on the Ebola Virus outbreak. When not in Africa, he is a nurse epidemiologist with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department in Tacoma, Wash., where he lives with his wife and son. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced on Thursday (Oct. 23) that Dr. Karen DeSalvo, a former Tulane University School of Medicine faculty member and alumna of both the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, would assume the role of acting assistant secretary for health effective immediately. more>>
