APHA is coming to New Orleans!

The American Public Health Association Annual Meeting is coming to New Orleans November 15 – 19, 2014 and we hope you will be there!

Attending the APHA meeting and exposition is always a good professional move since it connects you with more than 13,000 national and international researchers, educators, and public health specialists not to mention the 700 exhibitors with services and opportunities geared toward the public health community. This year’s theme is Healthography: How Where You Live Affects Your Health and Well-being. It’s sure to be thoughtful and informative, and being in the Crescent City in November certainly doesn’t hurt!

Mulate'sPlan to attend and reconnect with SPHTM. Here are some of the many ways you can make use of your time:

  • Have coffee with a former faculty member, maybe that professor who set you on the public health path you’re on right now.
  • Stop by and sit in on a class.
  • Arrange to have a drink with an old classmate and recall those grad school days.
  • Meet Alexis Ruffino, your alumni coordinator since 2011.
  • Visit the SPHTM Alumni Association President Elaine Hicks in her natural habitat – the Rudolph Matas Health Sciences Library.
  • Grab a bagel in Einstein’s Tidewater Café on the first floor of the school’s building.
  • Come to the alumni reception which will be held at Mulate’s right across from the convention center.
  • Stop by the school’s booth for some SPHTM swag. Once there, you can meet a current student or you might just bump into an old friend.
