Rick Rees earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974 cum laude from Tulane University, and in 1975 received a Master of Business degree from Tulane’s A. B. Freeman School of Business.
Mr. Rees is a certified public accountant, and has extensive experience as a financial executive and private equity professional. He co-founded and is managing partner of LongueVue Capital, a private equity firm based in New Orleans in 2001 that makes value oriented investments in middle-market companies. Mr. Rees is the former chief financial officer and board member of Halter Marine Group, a $1 billion revenue publicly traded shipbuilding company. Prior to his involvement with Halter, Mr. Rees was a managing partner with City Capital Corp., a private equity firm with significant interests in a number of maritime related businesses including marine finance, offshore rig construction and repair, and private maritime ports.
As an alumnus of Tulane, Mr. Rees has been involved with the Business School Council of the A. B. Freeman School of Business, currently serving as its President, the Levy-Rosenblum Institute and its advisory board, the Tulane Alumni Association Board of Directors, the past president of the Tulane Association of Business Alumni Board of Directors, and the Alumni Affairs Committee. In 1996, he was keynote speaker at the business school’s commencement and honored as alumnus of the year by the Tulane Association of Business Alumni.
Mr. Rees is also active in a number of professional and community service organizations.
Mr. Rees and his wife Debbie, a graduate of Newcomb College and the A. B. Freeman School of Business, live in New Orleans and have three children, Austin 22, Taylor 21, and Schaeffer 13.
