Aggravated Battery

On Tuesday 5/18/10 at approximately 5:20 p.m. three black male teenage subjects approached a Tulane University Staff member in the 1400 block of Cleveland Avenue . The subjects asked the staff member if she had any spare change to which she advised, “no”. The victim turned to walk away at which time she heard the subjects snickering and felt a sharp pain in the back of her head. As she turned around she observed one of the subjects standing there holding a small black air pistol. The victim after realizing that she had been shot with the air pistol advised the subjects that she was calling the police at which time they fled the area.

Officers canvassed the area and were able to apprehend one of the subjects who was later positively identified by the victim as the person who shot her with the air pistol. The other two victim ran towards the Iberville projects where officers lost sight of them.
