The PJ's Coffee Shop at Stern Hall will receive a national design award from the AIA in the 2008 Small Projects Award Program. The Award will be presented during the 2008 AIA National Convention in Boston. The project was one of only 18 selected from a field of 150 submissions from around the country.


The Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life was chosen by the American Institute of Architects as one of the top 10 green buildings in the country. The announcement was made by the AIA on Earth Day (April 22) 2008.

The mission of the Office of the University Architect is to support and to implement the University Strategic Plan and its goals for institutional development through the physical environment of the University. The Office of the University Architect develops, plans, and implements environmental, facility, and program planning activities, and oversees all architectural and urban design for all campuses of the university.
