Construction has begun on Zimple House with the start of test pile driving over Winter Break. Zimple House will be the third residence hall following the residential college model with Wall Residential College and Weatherhead Hall preceding it. Zimple House is anticipated to open in time for Move-In of the Fall 2014 semester.
At a ceremony on December 12, 2012, Benenson Plaza was dedicated as the third phase of the Newcomb-McAlister Unified Green master plan, following McAlister Place and the Gorson Gathering Gardens at the LBC Quad. The beautification project was made possible with a generous donation by the Benenson Family who previously supported the McAlister Place project as well as the Gibson Circle Monument sign and pylon entries.

![]() The Tulane Green Machine Recieves Sustainability AwardThe Tulane Green Machine, consisting of members from several divisions of Tulane with the common goal of greening campus buildings, was awarded a Sustainability Leadership Award of Operational Excellence by the Louisiana Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. The award recognizes teams of people who work to promote green practices in both the construction and operation of buildings in Louisiana.
