BATS is a day-long event that aims to introduce local 5th through 7th grade boys to STEM fields through experimentation and interaction with professors, researchers, and undergraduate/graduate students. TUNA runs a workshop entitled "Exploring Your Brain" for each BATS event, and it's consistently one of the boys' favorite workshops! We teach these students about the nervous system through fun experiments and examination of real nervous system specimen. Volunteers from TUNA are needed for both the workshop, which runs all day, and for our welcome table in the early morning. A goal of BATS is to show young boys the collaborative nature of science and the equality between men and women in STEM fields, so it would be awesome to have both male and female volunteers! A Doodle poll will be created closer to the date of this event so that you all can sign up for volunteer shifts throughout the day. This is an awesome way to get involved with the community and to help spread the love of neuroscience.

Yay brains!
