On Saturday, November 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., we will be working with Second Harvest Food Bank with their Food Sorting and Packing. Volunteers will work in the warehouse with groups and individuals to pack food, prepare backpacks, sort through salvage groceries, and sort and categorize donated food product in the cooler. Upon our arrival, our job description will be given in greater detail. Volunteer jobs are based on current needs in and around the warehouse, so please come prepared to work in the warehouse or in the cooler (layers are recommended). The warehouse is not climate controlled so please dress accordingly. Jeans, shorts and t-shirts are acceptable. YOU MUST WEAR CLOSED TOE SHOES! Anyone wearing flip-flops, sandals, or Crocs will not be permitted to work the shift. Volunteers will be asked to remove all jewelry (except for a wedding band) to comply with food safety regulations. Cold water is available for all volunteers. Please bring a water bottle to help Second Harvest go green! Groups must submit a SECOND HARVEST permission slip for each youth volunteer under the age of 18. Please let me know of any physical limitations, medical problems, or allergies that may affect your work.
