The Office of Web Communications manages accounts on the Tulane website content management system (CMS) and provides access to contributors.
Browsers (required)
The CMS can be edited in the following browsers:
Pop-Up Permissions (required)
Before you get started, you will need to allow pop up access for the CMS to your browser(s).
In Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu > point to Pop-up Blocker > click Pop-up Blocker Settings. In the 'Address of web site' field enter "authoring.tulane.edu" and click the Add button.
In Firefox, go to Firefox menu > click Preferences > choose the Content tab of the dialog box > click the Exceptions button for "Block pop-up windows. " In the 'Address of web site' field enter "authoring.tulane.edu" and click the Allow button.
CMS Login
The CMS, where websites are created and updated, resides in its own server. You can get to the cms production server by inserting "authoring." before tulane.edu. You can login directly to your own web site within CommonSpot, type the following URL into your browser:
- https://authoring.tulane.edu/yoursitepathname/login.cfm (recommended bookmark)
- For example, the research page would be https://authoring.tulane.edu/research/login.cfm
You will see a pop-up User Login dialog box
prompting you to enter your user ID (lowercase) and password.

Show Pending User Actions (recommended)
Checking 'Show Pending User Actions' prompts a dialog box that will show any pending items, such as:
Additionally, the Pending Action dialog is accessible from the 'Properties & Actions' icon menu.
Change Password
Your ID and password are pulled from your Tulane User ID. To change your password, visit psync.
