With visitors beginning to pour into New Orleans for Super Bowl week, Tulane University is welcoming football fanatics for two events on Tuesday night (Jan. 29).
ESPN’s Mike and Mike will appear at 7:30 p.m. at McAlister Auditorium on the Tulane uptown campus, and a panel of national sports experts will discuss the future of professional football at 8 p.m. at Tulane Hillel, 912 Broadway. Both programs are free and open to the public.
Mike and Mike, also known as Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, will discuss the Super Bowl along with other football-related topics. The pair appear weekday mornings on ESPN Radio and ESPN2.
The Hillel program is part of “The Big Issue” series and will feature Tulane law associate professor and sports law expert Gabe Feldman moderating a discussion on injuries and the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal. Panelists are George Atallah, assistant executive director of external affairs for the NFL Players Association; Judy Battista, NFL reporter for the New York Times; Andrew Brandt, a former player agent who is now an analyst for ESPN; and Mike Pesca, a national sports correspondent for NPR.
“I’m thrilled that the New Orleans and Tulane communities will get this unique opportunity to participate in a dialog with some of the leading voices in the NFL,” Feldman said.
Feldman is director of the sports law program at the Tulane School of Law and is an associate provost for NCAA compliance. He has served as a legal analyst for the NFL Network, and his Twitter handle, @SportsLawGuy, is listed in Sports Illustrated top 100 feeds for sports information.
