Super Bowl tickets, vacations, Mad Men star highlight Tulane auction
Weeklong stays at vacation homes in France and England, lunch with Blythe Danner, tickets to Saturday Night Live, one-of-a-kind dining experiences, passes to the owner's suite for the Saints vs. Atlanta game, autographed sports memorabilia and Super Bowl tickets are just some of the hundreds of items on the block at the Helluva Hullabaloo Auction and Party, 6 p.m., Nov. 2 in the Lavin-Bernick Center at Tulane University.
Proceeds from the event, which raised $600,000 last year, benefit Tulane’s student-athletes. "Mad Men" star and Tulane alumnus Bryan Batt will serve as auctioneer for the evening, which has become one of the city’s premier fundraisers. Tickets for the event are $75 in advance and $100 at the door and can be purchased at http://tulanehullabalooauction.com/ Admission includes great food, drinks and live music.
“The Helluva Hullabaloo Auction truly offers something for everyone,” auction chair Jill Glazer said. “So many people who love Tulane and New Orleans are involved in the success of this event, and I'm grateful to everyone who participates. We are on pace to surpass last year's record amount raised to support our Green Wave student-athletes, year-round.”
Bidding has already begun online at http://tulanehullabalooauction.com/ for exclusive items such as packages to London, France and the Sonoma, Calif., wine country; dove hunting in Argentina; lunch in Los Angeles with Doug Ellin, creator of HBO’s "Entourage;" trips to top-fight golf courses; a ride in the Orpheus Mardi Gras parade; tickets to the U.S. Open and the Sugar Bowl, and much more.
Online bidders should make sure they see the statement, "The proceeds for this item benefit Tulane University," on the bottom right hand side of the bid page before making a bid.
