Football, fireworks, speakers, reunions, Rebirth Brass Band, & Helluva Hullabaloo Auction highlight Tulane Homecoming
Green Wave alumni and families of current Tulane University students will return to New Orleans Nov. 1-4, as Tulane kicks off Homecoming, Family Weekend and “Wave ’12,” the All-Alumni Reunion party. Numerous other special events will take place leading up to the Homecoming football game, which pits the Rice Owls against the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2:30 p.m. in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Tailgating begins at 10 a.m. in Champions Square.
Most Homecoming events are open to the public, including a pep rally and fireworks show on the Lavin-Bernick Center Quad on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m., followed by a free concert by Rebirth Brass Band.
The Helluva Hullabaloo Auction & Party, which benefits student-athletes, will be held Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. in the Lavin-Bernick Center. The online auction at http://riptide.me/b0H is now live and features items such as travel with the Green Wave football team to road games, Super Bowl tickets, worldwide vacation packages and other prizes.
Other highlights of Homecoming Weekend include campus tours, art exhibits, glassblowing demonstrations, musical performances, faculty lectures and special guest speakers. A full schedule of Homecoming events is available at http://tulane.edu/homecoming.
