In preparation for Tropical Storm Isaac, Tulane University will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 28, and Wednesday, Aug. 29. All regularly scheduled classes will be held today until 5 p.m. Classes scheduled for after 5 p.m. are cancelled.

The university has established a call center for students at 504-247-1340 and is operating a shuttle service to the airport throughout the day for any students seeking to evacuate in advance of the storm.

Isaac is expected to make landfall along the Louisiana coast as a Category 1 storm. Because the storm is expected to be primarily a wind and rain event, university officials are preparing to shelter students who live on-campus in place at the university. All off-campus students should immediately review their hurricane plans and decide where they will locate for the storm. Any student needing assistance should call 504-247-1340.

Tulane will continue to update students, faculty and staff with the latest information on storm preparation and response via the Tulane emergency website at http://emergency.tulane.edu and the Tulane Alert Line at 1-877-862-8080 or 504-862-8080.
