***MEDIA ADVISORY***

WHAT:   Tulane University’s political science department will host watch parties for each presidential debate this month. The news media are welcome to cover the watch parties, which are strictly for students and members of the Tulane community. Each debate will feature student discussion led by a political science professor.

WHO:    Both students and political science professors will be available for commentary.

WHEN:  7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3.

WHERE: Room 125 of the Norman Mayer Building on Tulane’s uptown campus

MORE:    The other watch parties will be held at the same time and location on Oct. 16 and 22. "Tulane students are known for their engagement in the community, and getting involved in the electoral process is another way that they can take their education and apply it outside of campus," said Brian Brox, political science professor.  "We are hosting these debate watch parties to help them learn about the candidates so they can be informed and active participants in our nation's democracy."
