How will Tulanians celebrate Earth Week 2007? With the following events we hope to invigorate students, raise environmental awareness, and inspire people at Tulane and in New Orleans to appreciate and enjoy the planet they live on!
Friday, April 13: Step It Up! Global Warming Rally on the levee in Holy Cross Neighborhood. Bus departs from campus at 4:45 from Freret & McAlister. Contact email@example.com to reserve a seat.
Monday, April 16: Free Plum Street Snoball with Recycling Pledges, 11-1, in Pocket Park
Tuesday, April 17: Crescent City Farmer's Market 9 -1 at University Square. Shuttle departs from Freret & Law Road all morning. Meet at 11 a.m. at shuttle stop to join a group for shopping and lunch.
Wednesday, April 18: Green Rebuilding in Post-Katrina New Orleans, Kendall Cram Room in the UC, 7pm. Panel featuring Charles Allen, Holy Cross Neighborhood Association and U.S. Green Building Council; Pamela Bingham, Clinton Climate Initiative; Micah Walker Parkin, Alliance for Affordable Energy; and City Council President Oliver Thomas. Moderated by John McLachlan, Center for Bioenvironmental Research.
Thursday, April 19: Bike Appreciation Day, RUBARB bike repair demonstration and info session 11-1, Pocket Park
Saturday, April 21: Service Projects 9 a.m.-3p.m. Meet at Newcomb Quad at 8:45am, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
Saturday, April 21, p.m.: Music festival on the Quad (with USG, RHA, and TUCP) from 3-9 with an Earth Village featuring local and campus environmental organizations
