Tulane University invites New Orleanians to its join faculty, staff, students and alumni and friends from across the country in celebrating Homecoming Parent/Family Weekend 2006 from Oct. 27-29. The theme for this year's celebration is "Home Sweet Homecoming." Last year's traditional homecoming game was disrupted when Tulane was forced to cancel its fall semester due to Hurricane Katrina.

Game day, Oct. 28, pits the Green Wave against Army with a 1 p.m. kickoff. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. with tailgating and music outside the Superdome. There will be special tents for alumni, including the Alumni 25-Year Silver Reunion Tent for the classes of 1980 and 1981. During the game, the 2006 Homecoming Court will be presented and the Tulane marching band will perform.

Tickets may be purchased at the Dome or in advance by calling 504-861-WAVE. New Orleans public school students can receive free tickets, and N.O.P.S. employees and parents discounted tickets, also by calling 504-861-WAVE. Campus activities for Homecoming began on Oct. 22 with the traditional Lighting of McAlister Auditorium ceremony.

Throughout the week, Tulanians have been celebrating with window painting, sidewalk chalking, a fun run, green and blue snoballs and numerous other activities. For more information visit
