Fox Sports Net's Best Damn Sports Show Period with hosts Chris Rose, former Lakers' great John Salley and former Carolina Panthers star Rodney Peete will tape its popular, nationally televised program from Tulane University's Gibson Quad Sept. 27, 28 and 29 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The show is taping from Tulane's campus as a lead up to the Green Wave's Sept.
30 home opener against SMU. The game will mark the return of college football to the Superdome for the first time since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans Aug. 29, 2005. Guests for the show will include Tulane head football coach Chris Scelfo, former Rams star running back Marshall Faulk, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Saints running back Deuce McAllister, former LSU basketball coach Dale Brown and more.
New Orleans-based rockers Cowboy Mouth will perform on Wednesday, Robert Randolph and the Family Band will perform on Thursday. Randolph has been named among the 100 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine and has toured with Eric Clapton and Dave Matthews. To kick off the weekend on Friday, New Orleans' own Soul Rebel Brass Band will play.
The Tulane community and public are invited to all tapings. Students and fans wearing Tulane gear will be spotlighted for TV coverage. There will be beignet eating contests, giveaways and other special events. The hosts will take pictures and sign autographs with fans at the end of each show.
