Tulane University is celebrating its Homecoming and Parent/Family Weekend with a three-game baseball series at Zephyr Field between the 11th-ranked Green Wave and the sixth-ranked Rice Owls. Homecoming, normally held in the fall, was delayed when Tulane cancelled its Fall 2005 semester due to Hurricane Katrina.

Festivities on Homecoming Game Day, billed "HomeRun 2006," begin at 11 a.m. on April 1 with tailgating and live music by Metal Rose. The 2005 Homecoming Court will be presented on the stage outside prior to the game, which starts at 2 p.m. The Tulane marching band will be on hand for both the national anthem and in-game entertainment.

Activities for Homecoming began on March 26 with the traditional Lighting of McAlister Auditorium ceremony. This week also saw the grand reopening of the James W. Wilson Center and seven new inductees into the Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame. Throughout the week, Tulanians have been celebrating with window painting, sidewalk chalking, green and blue snoballs and numerous other activities.

Tickets for all three games of the baseball series are available at the ballpark beginning two hours before first pitch or by calling 504-861-WAVE. For more information visit
