Tulane University President Scott S. Cowen will present an update on the university's efforts to rebuild its campus since Hurricane Katrina at a special program for alumni, students, faculty and friends.

"Tulane in New York" will take place on Saturday, October 29, 10 a.m. at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, in the Kimmel Center for University Life at New York University. Audio of the program will be streamed live on the Internet at Thousands of Tulane University alumni live in New York and several hundred Tulane students are attending colleges and universities in the area.

The program will provide an overview of the progress Tulane has made and the effect Hurricane Katrina has had on the university. The university established the "Tulane Hurricane Rebuilding Fund" to help stem losses from the storm.

Due to conditions in New Orleans, the university was forced to cancel its fall semester, sending thousands of students to colleges and universities across the country.
